Arrested Development

“So is this you’re latest trick”?
“Illusion Michael, tricks are what whore's do for money”
These were the first lines from Arrested Development that made me go “hold on. This show is amazingly funny” I quickly watched the three seasons and now find myself falling asleep to this show most nights I spend by myself. The show I use to do this to before hand was Seinfeld (in fact I think I am in the top 15% of people in the world with my knowledge of the Seinfeld world).
Like Seinfeld my favourite character changed throughout Arrested Development. I loved Gob to begin with, the magician demanding to be taken seriously determined to get a cover on poof magazine. Never admitting to have admitted a mistake. Ripping off his nephew on a pot deal, and his almighty achievement the disappearance of the Sea-Word. I must pause here and point out that due to having seen the Prestige I know that there is three events to a illusion. The promise - “I will make this boat disappear”. The turn - The boat disappears and finally the preside - the boat returns. Gob in sinking the boat is unable to make the boat reappear therefore being sans the most important part of the illusion. Gob is truly a feebal magician.
I could go on and on about Gob because there is just so much to him. “I will take the place of my dead father” “How can the holy trinity not mean a threesome” and of course his seg-way. I have touched on about 5 % of Gob.
The David Cross - Tobias Funke then became the source of my enamour. “Look at me I’m an actor I deal with rejection everyday”
“But you haven’t actually had an audition have you”
“Arr well yes”.
Tobias is also a never nude, which mean exactly what it sounds like. A raging closet homosexual he had been married into the family by Lindsey the sister in the family to piss off her father. He is both loved and loathed, and is the first anaulrapist in field of physiotherapy known as the soft sciences. Though the printing of his business cards almost lead to his arrest.
David Cross is a brilliant comedic actor and is surprisingly agile and well cracks me up so much I again will say no more.
George Michael, Michael Cera.
“Hey I saw you today George Michael”
“Are you sure? I mean it could have been the singer song writer George Michael”.
His uncomfortableness is just so cute, so endearing, and how he finds his way into quiet sickening positions where is sees things he just can’t un-see.
“Uncle Tobias showed us some really rough photos. I mean they were really rough”.
Then there’s his forbidden love for his cousin, his girlfriend egg and an amazing scene that if you look closely you will see that they make him Charlie Brown. (He walks pat a red dog box with a white dog laying on top. GM is dressed in Charlie Brown colours.)
Added to this Buster, the father, Oscar, Lindsey, Michael, and the host of other supporting characters, Henry Winkler, Scott Baio, Martin Short, Charlies Thron and of course Ben Stiller as Tony Wonder.
This show is further proof that American’s are insipid. The show was cancelled due to poor ratings, I mean this funny a show earning low ratings COME ON!
What I have before mentioned is but a small sniped of how great this show is. Hire out the first season 2 episodes and will see what the guru is talking about.

The actors who play Michael (Jason Bateman) and George Michael (Michael Cera) both have key roles and do a brilliant job.

Finally
yes!!!
A.D is the best, its amazing.
i, as with yourself, constantly am evolving in my favourite character. Micheal i loved because if his subtle hate of almost every member of his family. Lucile because of her knee slapping-ly funny alchoholic remarks etc and i could go on about every character.
this show is a landmark and its a damned shame that it got cancelled with only tree seasons (i like in the third season how they integrate the cancellation into the narration and plot "please tell you friends about this show")
love it and love you (Seinfeld too was my all time favourite show !)
you made my day!
